Bored in Quarantine? Here’s 3 Disney+ movies to check out!

2020 was definitely not the best year. COVID definitely hit us all and caused mass chaos. In the craziness of 2020, while everyone was staying at home in bed all day… Disney+ was working their butt off to produce some AMAZING movies, and here are just my top 3.

  • HAMILTON.

Hamilton is a recorded broadway musical that hit the stage on Disney+ Independence day, 2020. While many people would disagree, I think it is the best-released movie in 2020. Hamilton is filled with good music. From Hip Hop to Jazz to R&B to Rap. The lyrics are modern and catchy. But not only are they catchy, we actually learn something from them. My favorite songs include “The Schuyler Sisters”, “Non-Stop”, and “Cabinet Battle #1”. My least favorite song is probably “Stay Alive” because it is when Hamilton’s son dies and it is so sad. Minus a few details, Hamilton’s plot mostly sticks to the real story and real-life of Alexander Hamilton. If you’re not a musical person, or you hate history class then this show may not be for you but  “don’t be shocked when your history book mentions” Alexander Hamilton and the events in the musical, because they are true.

  • SOUL.

Soul is an animated cartoon teaching us messages about the purpose of life and what to do with your time on earth. The movie also bursts with bright colors and a creative aura that helps viewers stay engaged throughout the whole movie. Soul hit the topic of depression and anxiety and showed us that too much of anything, good or bad, can take us over and cause us to fall into a spiral of hurt and pain. It also teaches us lessons on how to not just exist but to live. Soul has many life lessons in the movie which is why I strongly recommend the movie. You may not like it if you don’t like cheesy films, but I do believe we all could live a better life if we lived the way Joe did at the end of the movie.

  • CLOUDS.

Clouds is a movie based upon the tear-jerking story of Zach Sobiech and his battle with cancer. I didn’t know Zach’s story until seeing this movie and that caused me to look more into him. It honestly baffled me how he was so positive and so inspirational when everything seemed to go so bad for him. I know I wouldn’t be as positive as he was in the situation. One of my favorite quotes from Zach in Clouds is “You don’t have to find out you are dying, to start living.” See, I told you he was inspirational. Clouds coming to Disney and this movie will really hit you in the feels. I recommend this if you’re a sucker for cute teenage movies but have your tissues ready. The fact that it is based on a true story makes it that much sadder, but also that much more inspirational. If Zach can live life to its fullest, can’t anyone?
