Have you ever wondered how far covid has developed since it began? The covid vaccine has recently come out for Covid, the cause of a global pandemic. Covid first started Dec. 31 of 2019. Covid is a disease that has different symptoms based on each person. Some of the most common symptoms may include fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, and  loss of taste or smell. Covid can easily be spread out throughout people if they don’t maintain a distance of at least six feet. When people are near each other, respiratory droplets can cause people to get infected.

The best way to help prevent COVID-19  can be taken in different ways. One way would be to minimize social gatherings in order to control the spread of this disease. Another great way to control the spread would be to wear a mask in public places. Along with that keeping the areas around us clean would help ourselves not get infected. Washing our hands frequently is another step that we should take to help prevent Covid infections to go further. The Covid vaccine was developed so that it would prevent people from getting Covid.

The first Covid vaccine was developed Dec. 3, 2020. This vaccine was developed in the hopes that it would end the pandemic. The Covid vaccine might prevent people from getting Covid or getting very ill to the point they can die. It was also developed so that the spread would stop. By the spread of the disease stopping would mean the disease would have trouble spreading and contributing herd immunity. If the deadly disease continues to replicate and spread widely there may be chances that it can become immune to the vaccine.

So far there’s three covid vaccines. The first Covid vaccine would be the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID- 19 vaccine. According to an article posted by Washington’s post website, this vaccine is calculated to have an efficiency of around 95 percent. This means that it’s estimated that 95 percent of the people who get this vaccine are protected from getting infected or having any of the Covid symptoms. This vaccine is made for the people who are 16 years old and up. Two doses are required for this vaccine, 21 days apart from when the first vaccine was applied. If needed the second vaccine would have to be given up to six weeks after the first one.

The second vaccine that was made for Covid is the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. This vaccine is calculated to have a 94.1percent efficiency. This would mean that 94.1 percent of the people who get this vaccine would be protected from getting infected or getting covid symptoms. This Covid vaccine was developed for 18 year olds and up. This vaccine requires the second dose of the vaccine to be given 28 days after the first dose.

The third vaccine for Covid is the Johnson & Johnson. This vaccine is the vaccine that has been recently authorized. What’s different about this vaccine is that it’s a single- dose vaccine. They believe that this vaccine is just as efficient as the other two Covid vaccines.

The first group of people who the Covid vaccines are available for are essential workers, teachers, healthcare personnel, long- term care facility residents, and older adults. Older adults are the adults that are 75 years old or older. They have the Covid vaccines available to them because they have a higher risk of hospitalization, illness, and death from the disease. Overall the Covid vaccine is hoped to end the global pandemic.

Some people have concerns of whether the vaccine is necessary or if it’s safe to get it. They believe that scientists may be biased when it comes to this sort of situation. In an article some of their concerns are expressed which lets us know that not all the public is 100 percent sure they want to get the vaccine in fears that their concerns will turn into a reality. A percentage of the public believes that the vaccine doesn’t work so they refuse to get it.

There’s also the other percentage of the public that believes the Covid vaccine is needed and they believe that if we get the vaccine we could possibly end the pandemic. Some people may feel a lot more sure about the vaccines when they are ensured to be safe. Overall, half of the adults which is around 47% have been reported to get the first dose of the vaccine. There are hopes that everyone gets the vaccine so this pandemic end.
