Shake it Off

My favorite style of restaurant has always been diners, even when I was a kid I always loved diner style restaurants with diner style food. I think it’s because my love for the 50’s, it’s one of my favorite eras. But I also think it has to do with my love for diner foods, especially milkshakes. Now I don’t want to say that I am the all knowing milkshake master but I have tried milkshakes from lots of different places so I can tell you who’s got it going on and who needs to step it up. One place that has never left me, or my taste buds disappointed is Fuddruckers.

Before I dive into how much I’m in love with Fuddruckers’ milkshakes, let me set the scene of what it feels like when you walk in through those beautiful double doors. You walk in, and then you go up to the counter and order your food. The menu has a wide range of stuff but pretty much stays in the diner foods family; burgers, hot dogs, french fries and whatnot. Now you order yourself a milkshake, they have Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Oreo and Peanut Butter. I always order vanilla, (which some people say is boring, but you can’t go wrong with the original milkshake flavor) and then the cashier gives you your number that’s attached to a long skinny pole, and then you sit and wait for the magic.

One of the cool things about Fuddruckers is the interior. The walls are full of pictures, signs, collectables, and other vintage things. The whole set up is very classic, not 100% fifties but some aspects of that era are definitely present.

After what feels like forever because of how excited you are, your shake arrives. Topped with whipped cream and a bright red cherry in the typical shake glass and the extra in the metal cup, it looks like a dream and tastes even better. Made with real ice cream, Fuddruckers shakes taste amazing and hit just the right spot.

So if you are ever craving a milkshake that will taste awesome, I highly recommend taking a ride down to Fuddruckers, there is one located in Glendale right by the Arrowhead Mall. I give this restaurant five stars, not only are the shakes amazing but the food tastes great too. I promise you will not be disappointed.
