When it comes to secret menus, the idea of buying an item from one can be risky but fun at the same time. Not all places have them, but it never hurts to ask or do a quick Google search. Ah Del Taco, the perfect place where you can basically get the entire menu for under $5. It may not be as popular as Taco Bell, but it’s the perfect place to go when you’re on a budget.

Personally I have never tried a secret menu item from any fast food place. I have always been too afraid that I wouldn’t like the item and I’d end up wasting money.

I ordered the bun taco. The what taco? You heard right the bun taco, all the ingredients you’d find in a taco put onto a sesame seed bun.

In all honesty I enjoy Del Taco’s hard shell tacos, but taking those taco ingredients and putting them onto a bun just isn’t right. I think it’s because the meat used for the tacos is crumbled ground meat, it makes the “burger” very messy. Along with the shredded lettuce and cheese, they just fall right out of the bun. It also makes the presentation of the item look not so appetizing. Overall, it’s an unusual idea, but that’s what makes it perfect about being a secret menu item.
