Helpful Tips While Distance Learning

Due to the circumstances everyone has been forced to continue the 2019-20 school year at home. This is very difficult for all of us, and while it’s not an ideal situation we should all continue this school year stronger than ever. But, how? Here are four tips on how to be successful while online learning. 

First, the environment. If you’re not in a place that is going to help your brain work and focus effectively. Some things that you can do to improve this are, making sure the room is well-lit so that you’re not working in the dark. Next, make sure that you’re comfortable in the place you’re working, but not too comfortable. For example, wearing your favorite PJ’s, but not working in bed to make sure you stay on task and alert. 

Secondly, breaking up big loads of work according to your own self. Some people are able to knock out all of their work for the week in one day; while others need to plan to do a little bit of work each day. If you get everything done in one day then you can have the rest of the week off to relax and lay back. If you do a little bit everyday then it could help you keep a schedule, to help give you some structure. However, it’s also important to know what works for you. Know if you have enough motivation to get it all done then and there, and if not, than that’s good too! Know what’ll work for you. 

Thirdly, snacks. Never work on an empty stomach, you’ll get distracted and not be able to focus. Before you get to work if you haven’t eaten yet that day, maybe do so. Something that may also help is having a small snack in your workspace. As well as a drink, like water or coffee to keep up your energy.  

Finally, know what works for you. Know if you want to get everything done in one day, or what type of snacks will help your brain work. As well as the type of environment that’ll keep you motivated.
