Summer is perfect to have a good time and make memories with family and friends All these good times start with a plan. Some of you go to water parks or to places like Disney World, and some decide to take it easy by relaxing at home all summer. Everyone’s plans vary depending on the person and the family. Here are some of the things that students like you at Imagine Prep are planning to do for their summers.
Hannah Morris is a senior at Imagine Prep and is excited about graduating this year. This summer, for her, is a step closer to a higher education and her dream. She wants to use this time to get things ready for college.
“This summer I plan to get another job to save some spending money for college, and then move into my college dorm at Barrett in ASU,” Morris said. “My friends will visit from out of state and I will spend time with them and my family. Moving into my college dorm and getting my bachelors degree in civil engineering is important so I can become a civil engineer. I am very excited to go to college! I am excited for independence and for challenging myself academically. It is a big step to take, but I am ready.”
Alyssa Lancaster is a 10th grader at Imagine Prep. For her, the summer is a time to kick back and relax. It’s not a time of planned out events or rushed days. It’s a time for her to look forward to doing nothing.
“It’s just a time for me to relax after all the Cambridge testing,” Lancaster said. “I´m looking forward to seeing new movies, swimming, and doing nothing productive besides chores.”
Alena Malak is another 10th grader here at Imagine Prep and she loves to travel and binge watch movies and TV shows.
“Some of the traveling will be important because I’m going to the national championships of something I’m involved in,” Malak said. “I am looking forward to being lazy and enjoying my summer.”
Nick Jeffery is also a 10th grader here at the Prep and is planning to travel and spend some time with his family. He also plans to get his license this summer to be able to go to his West-MEC orientation.
“It is important because my closest extended family is in Utah, so I only get to see them over breaks,” Jeffery said. “I went to Utah for the first time since 2013. I’m definitely looking forward to going to Utah because we always do lots of fun things like hiking, barbeques, bowling, all the time! I’ll be driving to school and other places next year, so getting my license is very important.”
For me I only have a month of summer break this year. By the last month and everyone is still enjoying their summer breaks I will be starting my first class of college. I’m very excited to experience a new step in life. Like anyone the rest of them i’m going to be busy at some point, but until then i’m going to take it easy and enjoy my break
