Showcase of the arts
April 17, 2018
Every year Imagine Prep hosts an Art Night to showcase the artwork that students have done throughout the year. Each year it becomes bigger and showcases an even wider variety of work and talent.
This year Art Night will take place on April 26, from 5-7 p.m. This art showcase first started when Ms. Yekin worked as the art teacher.
“Originally Ms. Yekin did it [Art Night], and I got to see what she did,” Bauer said. “It showcases what the students do, since no one usually gets to see it. Parents, students, and teachers see what they create all year.”
Every year, Bauer always tries to make the Art Night bigger and better. This year will include new varieties of art that many might have never seen before.
“This year we will be sharing with Rosefield,” Bauer said. “Half of the gym will be Imagine, and the other half will be Rosefield. We’re trying to get Rosefield choir to perform with Imagine Glee Club. Mr. Andree wants to show some student films, Mr. Mould is showing some STEM robot display. CrewMe2We and NJHS might sell concessions. WHAM [a nonprofit that offers art classes in Surprise] is going to be in the front so kids can do art projects before they walk in the door.”
Sophmore Brynn Carlson is an art student at Imagine Prep. She is excited to show her art to the school.
“My favorite project was the pop art, I was able to hang it up on my wall,” Carlson said. “I’m ecstatic that my art can be part of the gallery.”
Daniela Estrada, also a sophomore who takes art, thinks it is a good way to show different levels of art talents.
“I’m curious to see the artists behind the art [having a name attached to the art],” Estrada said. “I can see the skill level [of the students] compared to their grade level.”
